CADOTT, WI — A serious three-vehicle crash occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of State Highway 27 and 115th Avenue in the Town of Arthur, prompting emergency response from multiple agencies and resulting in two people being hospitalized.
According to a press release issued by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office at 8:30 p.m. on May 7, 2025, the crash happened around 4:49 p.m. when a vehicle traveling northbound on STH 27 attempted to turn west onto 115th Avenue. While turning, it collided with a southbound vehicle in the intersection, disabling the turning vehicle.
The southbound vehicle continued traveling before the driver lost control, crossed the centerline, and collided with a northbound semi-truck. Both the southbound vehicle and the semi became disabled in the roadway.
The driver of the initial northbound turning vehicle, an 86-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 19-year-old male driver of the southbound vehicle was airlifted by Mayo One Helicopter to Mayo Eau Claire with serious injuries. The 41-year-old male driver of the semi was not injured.
Names of those involved have not been released pending investigation.
Responding agencies included the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Cadott Police Department, Boyd Police Department, Cadott Fire and EMS, Boyd EMS, Chippewa Falls EMS, and Mayo One.
The crash remains under investigation by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
