Wilma Jean Johnson, age 72, of Barronett passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Shell Lake Health Care Center.

She was born June 5, 1951 in Shell Lake, WI to William and Ruby (Walter) Gregory. She was married on June 8, 1974 to Darryl Johnson.

Willie worked at Indianhead Medical Center, various nursings homes, Maple Plain and St. Croix Reservations, WIC, and, most recently, UW Extension.

She assisted with the local 4H club, keeping her neighbors updated with news, and was proud of her work keeping up the family genealogy and circle letter. Other hobbies included crocheting, playing solitaire, reading the Bible and singing hymns, and in her earlier years, fishing.

She is survived by husband, of 49 years, Darryl Johnson; children, Peggy (Jonathan) Bergrab, Mark (Kelly) Johnson; grandchildren, Eric, Luke, Kirsten and Kevin Bergrab, and Brooke Johnson; siblings, Walter (Suzanne) Gregory, Margaret (Roger) Kroes, and Elizabeth (Steve) Strabel; brother-in-law, Kevin (Terri) Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruby Gregory.

Funeral services will be held at Spooner Wesleyan Church on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 2 PM with Ron Gormong officiating. Visitation will be from 12 PM - 2 PM at the church.
