In Memory of William L. Tretsven


May 28, 1951 - July 12, 2023

William “Bill” Leonard Tretsven, 72, of St. Croix Falls, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12th at 7:25 a.m. in his home on the Tretsven Farm that has been in the family for 85 years. Bill was surrounded by his wife Nancy of 53 years and their four daughters Terri, Tanya, Tammy, Tracy and his sister Linda all by his side. Bill, like his brothers; Jim, Larry, and sister Judy he has now ended his courageous battle with Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

Bill was born May 28, 1951, in Frederic, WI to Kenneth and Vierlyn (Harder) (Tretsven) Anderson. He lived and worked on the family farm and attended school in St. Croix Falls where he lettered in football and wrestling. In 1969, Bill lost his father Ken and met the love of his life Nancy Kobs. In 1970, they got married, purchased the family farm and he graduated high school and by 1977 they had 4 beautiful daughters.

Bill had a strong work ethic which he passed down to his daughters, while farming for 38 years, he always held a second job away from the farm. Some included being a crane operator, cheese production, road maintenance for the township and retired from Andersen Windows. Bill loved the many seasons throughout the year including planting, harvesting, hunting, fishing, and spending the holidays with his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother and father Vierlyn and Kenneth; and brothers, Jim and Larry, and his sister Judy.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Nancy; daughters, Terri (Gary) Mertz; Tanya Tretsven; Tammy Merth-Tretsven (John); Tracy (Jeremy) Wilkerson; sister, Linda Chinander; sister-in-law, Ramona (Jim) Tretsven; brother-in-law Steve (Judy) Parker. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren McKayla, Mason, Madison, Landon, Logan, Arial, Nolan, Payton, Nolan, Kailey & Kellen whom he loved so very much.
