William “Bill” Gill Jr. Age 80, of Cumberland, WI, passed away peacefully March 16, 2024 in Colfax, WI with his family by his side.

He was born on May 4, 1943 in Cumberland, WI to William Sr and Irene (Balko) Gill. Bill graduated from Cumberland High School in 1961 and then went on to UW River Falls where he received his Bachelor Degree in Agriculture. He worked at the Barron County Courthouse as a 4-H agent, taught at Cumberland High School for 4 years and also continued to dairy farm in the Township of Cumberland where he grew up and ran a large dairy farm operation. Bill received honors for his Jersey cattle and was named a Star Farmer. He had a passion for farming and loved teaching others and hosted International Students to learn agriculture on his farm. Bill loved welding, woodworking, dreaming of big ideas, playing the piano, listening to music, baking, cooking and socializing with everyone.

He is survived by 2 nieces, Kelly Clausen (Tim Kohnhorst) and and Jody (Troy) Shea; 6 great nephews and great nieces, Miranda, Brandon, Thomas, Morgan, Tyler and Madelyn; sister-in-law, Peggy Gill; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr and Irene Gill; a brother, Larry Gill; and a sister, Sandra Gill.

Funeral Services will be held at 6PM Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM Thursday, March 28.
