William (Bill) E. Montpetit, age 85, of Osceola, WI passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Christian Community Homes of Osceola.

Bill was born on June 4, 1939 in East Farmington, WI to parents Edward Montpetit and Goldie Montpetit (Leske).

After graduating from Osceola High School in 1958, Bill went on to marry Marjorie Richert of Stillwater, MN on June 24, 1961. Together they had four children. Early on, Bill worked at his family’s tavern in East Farmington known as Montpetit’s Bar. He then had a couple of factory jobs before he was hired as a custodian in the Osceola School District. He retired from the school district in 2001, after 19 years of service.

Bill was a quiet man. Anyone who knew him would know how hard it was to get a word out of him. He enjoyed cooking and baking, which he had learned from helping his mom in the kitchen. His specialty was fried chicken. Bill also liked to garden. What produce the family didn’t eat, or give away, he would freeze and can. Bill was an avid sports fan. He especially loved his Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin sports teams! Bill and Margie enjoyed traveling. They accompanied their son Steve on many trips to Colorado, Hawaii and Florida.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Margie Montpetit; parents, Edward and Goldie Montpetit; sisters, Ione, Diane, and Gloria; and brothers, Bob and David Montpetit.
