Willard “Willie” Owen Hill Age 92, of Birchwood, WI died Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Shell Lake Care Center in Shell Lake, WI.

He was born on July 25, 1926 in Barron County, WI to John and Mildred (Hagen) Hill. Willie attended school in Haugen, Brill and High School in Rice Lake. He entered the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged. Willie was a laborer at Birchwood Manufacturing and after he retired he worked at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake mowing lawns. He loved downhill skiing and went down every hill in the west and enjoyed ice skating, he also enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting and fishing

He is survived by a step granddaughter, Jennifer Pessin; a step grandson, Andy Pessin; sister, Harriet (Jeff) Steckhahn of Birchwood, WI; nieces Jill (Dwight) Brown and Jennifer Brye; a brother-in-law,  Buddy Robotka and his family, Nadine, Shelly, Linda, John, Jeff and Bobby; sister-in-law, Joyce Holmstrom and family;  brother-in-law John Olson and family;  sister-in-law, Pat Olson and family;  his “fishing nephew”, Wayne Olson and family; along with other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Hill; a stepson, Mark Pessin; his parents, John and Mildred Hill; and a nephew, Lonnie Robarge.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Rev. Chris Sesvold officiating, with interment in the Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals
