In Memory of Wayne A. Fish
Wayne A. Fish, age 90, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia (née Palmquist). He is survived by his children: Dave Fish of Webster, WI, Bill Fish of Webster, WI, TJ (Amy) Golan of Luck, WI, Tim (Ginney) Golan of Hawaii, Rose Marie Hams of White Lake, WI, and Debra Zimmerman of Webster, WI.
Wayne was also preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Edel Fromm and Helen Palm, his brother Fred Fish, and additional loved ones including Don Quist, Betty Jean and Gary Zaiser, Shirley Meer of Circle Pines, MN and his son Dan Fish of Minneapolis.
Wayne was a man of many talents and passions. He loved fishing and woodworking and was a proud member of both the John Hicks American Legion and a lifelong member of the VFW. His craftsmanship, steady hands, and sharp wit made him a trusted friend, a dedicated tradesman, and a beloved family member.
Born in Warroad, MN, Wayne graduated in 1952 before serving in the U.S. Army from 1954 to December 1955. After his service, he spent time working in Milwaukee before marrying Pat in 1957. Together, they built a life in Warroad until 1966, when they moved to Coon Rapids, MN, where Wayne worked as a millwright in the carpentry trade until his retirement in 1996. In 1988, he and Pat transitioned from the Twin Cities to Webster, WI, before retiring to Cape Coral, FL. After Pat's health declined, they returned to Webster to be closer to family-where he remained until his passing.
Wayne lived a full life, built on hard work, loyalty, and love for those around him. He was the kind of man you could count on-steady as they come, quick with a joke, and always willing to lend a hand. His presence will be missed, but his legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and craftsmanship he leaves behind.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, 26530 Lakeland Ave North, Webster, WI, from 10 AM until the time of memorial service at 11 AM.
