Virginia Kay Nelson, age 64, of Barron, passed away at her home in Barron on Sunday, March 31, 2019.

She was born to Elmer and Irene (Flug) Nelson.  She graduated from Barron High School and then graduated from cosmetology School in Eau Claire.  She worked at Lois’ Beauty Salon for 26 years. 

Virginia enjoyed planting flowers, decorating, jewelry and visiting with family. 

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Heather (Jon) Paulzine of Barron; son, Brian (Brandi) Nelson of Rice Lake; grandchildren Austin Schake, Ashley Schake, Taylor Anderson and Cora Nelson; brother, Brad Nelson of Hillsdale; nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer (Jeanette) Nelson and Irene Nelson; brother, Dan Nelson; sister-in-law and best friend, Pat Nelson. 

Funeral services for Virginia Nelson will be Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Barron with Rev. Ron Mathews officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday morning.  Burial will be in the spring at New Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in Dallas.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
