In Memory of Virginia Anderson
Virginia “Virgie” Irene Anderson Age 90, of Rice Lake, WI died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Dove Healthcare in Rice Lake.
She was born on February 5, 1929 in Cameron, WI to Edwin and Olga (Brian) Pederson. Virgie graduated from the Cameron High School in 1947 and then attended St. Olaf College for a year. She was married to Wallace “Wally” Anderson on April 10, 1948 in Cameron. Virgie loved being a homemaker, was a welcome lady service for many years for Welcome Wagon, she worked in medical records for the clinic, helped her husband in the office at Anderson Realty/Associated Realty and was a travel agent for Rice Lake Travel Agency. She enjoyed hardanger, rosemaling, playing cards, going out/socializing with her friends and loved being with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Strong of Barronett, WI, Kris and Tom Ylikopsa of Hudson, WI, Karen and Hugh Mommsen of Rice Lake & Gary and Sue Anderson of Birchwood, WI; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Russel Pederson of Hoyt Lakes, MN; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Wally” Anderson; a son-in-law, Larry Strong; a sister-in-law, Nadine Pederson; and her parents, Edwin and Olga Pederson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, November 29, 2019 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Scott Burns officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Friday.
Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake.
