In Memory of Violet Roberts
Violet Ivadel Cain was born August 20, 1938 in Amery, Wisconsin, accepted Christ at a young age and graduated from Amery High School in 1956. She attended St. Paul Bible College in 1956-57 and then started working at Minnesota Mutual where she met the love of her life, and husband of 60 years, Rodney Roberts.
She and Rodney were married June 18, 1960 and raised their family of four children in Northern Minnesota. She pursued her college degree later in life, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and a Masters in Education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
While she was completing her own education, she worked to educate others, working in the college learning center at Mesabi Community College, and after achieving her degree, she worked as a teacher at Faith Christian School in Foreston, MN, where she taught English Composition, Grammar, and Literature among other subjects. Violet loved the Lord, and was involved in her local church throughout her life.
Violet loved art in any form, whether painting, sewing, or writing and reading poetry, she was always on the look-out for new studies and new projects.
She is survived by her husband Rodney Roberts, her four children, Dawn (Chris) Langevin, Sherilyn (Richard) Wilson, Andrew (Tricia) Roberts, Mark (Sarah) Roberts, 10 Grandchildren: Amanda, Ryan, Michael, Elizabeth, Jonathon, Ainsley, Grace, Rilla, Katya, Cade, Brothers Orison and Melvin, Sister Lynnette, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Orin & Elena Cain, 5 brothers, 5 sisters, and a son-in-law, Richard Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at the Kost Evangelical Free Church, 37405 Kost Trail, North Branch, MN on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11 a.m.. There will be a time of visitation for the hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services will be held at the East Lincoln Cemetery in rural Amery, Wisconsin at 3:30 pm following the funeral. The funeral service will be live streamed at kostchurch.org.
