In Memory of Timothy R. Stauner
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Timothy Raymond Stauner on January 3, 2025, at the age of 61.
Tim was raised in Poskin and graduated from Barron High School, Class of ’82. Some of his favorite high school memories took place on the football field and basketball court, competing with classmates who became lifelong friends. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin in LaCrosse before settling down in Barron. He worked at the family business, TMC, for many years before adventuring on to his true passion of farming his fields and fixing anything with a motor.
Throughout his life he was known for his hard work, creative ingenuity, and his dedication to helping his family. He had a passion for Harley Davidsons, John Deere tractors and pot-bellied pigs. Tim was well-known for giving friends and family members clever nicknames. Even his youngest grandchildren picked up on his wittiness, giving him the nickname “Tractor Grandpa”.
Tim loved the outdoors, hunting, farming, welding, his time in Alaska and Montana, and his kids and grandchildren. When he wasn’t working, he spent the majority of his time with his grandchildren whether it was attending their sporting events, taking them for tractor rides, preparing for hunting seasons or sharing his life values-putting family first was at the top of Tim’s list. Tim also cherished his time with friends enjoying a cold beverage and watching Wisconsin sports teams. He was always eager and willing to share his knowledge and exciting adventures.
Tim is survived by his children: Scot (Becky) Hammann, Erin (Ryan) Graf, Jena (Tyler) Florczak and William Stauner; his grandchildren: Brooke (Noah), Summer, Brody, Brayden, Shyanne, Kaylee, Zachary, Trajan and Taysom; his former wife, Mary; brother: Michael (Rhonda) Stauner; sisters: Ann (Kip) Hay, Kathy (Bob) Otto, Susan (Jeff Clark) Flanagan and Patty Nesheim; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Barbara Stauner; brother-in-laws: Jody Flanagan and Jeff Nesheim, and dear friend Carter Swenson.
A celebration of life will be held at The Church Barn this spring.
