In Memory of Thomas W. Feder


January 28, 1939 - February 11, 2024

Thomas W. Feder, age 85, of Hayward, WI passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his home.

Thomas Wesley Feder was born January 28, 1939, in West Allis, WI, the son of Clifton and Gretchen (Krautschneider) Feder.

He was raised in West Allis and graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1957. He then attended trade school in West Allis and then apprenticed at Allis-Chalmers where he learned to be a wood pattern maker. Thomas took a job with Wisconsin Pattern Company where he would work many years as a pattern maker. He also worked as a horse farrier in the Milwaukee area where he kept his horse. While working at a riding stable he met Geraldine Eggert. On July 25, 1959, Thomas was joined in marriage to Geraldine in Franksville, WI. Thomas and Geraldine made their home in Franksville where they raised two children. Thomas continued his career with Wisconsin Pattern until taking a job working with a friend in his shop. He did this for several years and then went to work in Iron Mountain, MI for two years. Thomas retired in the 1990’s and in 2000 he moved with his wife to Hayward, WI. Thomas and Geraldine enjoyed fishing and riding ATVs together. Thomas would even make his own spinners for walleye fishing on area lakes and steelhead fishing on the Brule. He also made his own black powder rifle. Thomas was a member of Milwaukee Area Pattern Maker’s Union and then International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Geraldine; one son, William Feder; and one daughter, Karen Feder.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private interment will be held for Thomas at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine, WI.
