Thomas Paul Franz, 70, of Cumberland died January 7, 2024, at Meadowbrook of Chetek.

He was born April 14, 1953, in Cincinnati, OH to Thomas and Carol (Kief) Franz.

He obtained a BS in Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, MS Civil Engineering University of Minnesota, and Doctorate in Environmental Engineering Rutgers. Tom taught science classes for University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire at Barron County for several years and then retired. Tom moved to this part of the country from Kentucky because he loved the outdoors, the adventures of camping, fishing, hiking and the love shared by all his friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
