May 10, 1939 - February 25, 2018

Theresa Sundeen, age 78, a longtime resident of Spooner, died on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner.

Theresa Marie Edwall was born on May 10, 1939, in Shell Lake, Wisconsin to parents Hugo and Marie (Biver) Edwall.  She attended the Spooner Schools and graduated Spooner High School in the Class of 1957.  On November 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Arthur Sundeen at the St. Francis de Sales Church in Spooner.   Together they lived and raised their family on the shores of Spooner Lake running their family owned Laconia Resort and Lodge.  Theresa also worked part time for her mother in law at the Sather Jewelry Store.  The Catholic Church was always a big part of her life.  She was very active with her local Parish, St. Francis de Sales, where she served in all aspects of the Church, including being a mentor and sponsor to several Confirmation students over the years. 

Theresa is survived by her sons Peter Sundeen of Hayward, Paul Sundeen of Spooner, sisters T. Ann (Richard) Breitbach of Forest Lake, MN, Mary (Richard) Denham of Milton, WI, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, and brothers Ray and Al Edwall.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 1pm, at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Bala as Celebrant.  Visitation will be held on Friday, at the Church, from noon until 1pm.  Interment will follow at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her husband Arthur. 

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly asks that memorials be given to the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Theresa’s name.
