Ted Zimmerman, age 71, a lifelong resident of the Sarona area, died on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Shell Lake Health Care Center.

Theodore R. Zimmerman was born on July 9, 1953, in Shell Lake, to parents Marcus and Marthy (Minkel) Zimmerman.

Ted attended and graduated from the Spooner School District in 1971. After graduation, he attended Trade School for Carpentry and worked for Schmelke Pool Cue Company. After completion of his Carpentry training, he worked for Magnus Construction and later York Construction, both of Spooner. He would later take a maintenance position at Stresau Labs, before retiring due to health conditions. As he was one to never quit being busy, Ted continued to do what he could to help family around the farm, doing lawn care and burials at the Sarona Cemetery, and helping others wherever else he could. Ted was married to Marilyn Hrouda on September 10, 1977, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, and although later divorced, two children were born to this union. Ted loved the outdoors and taking it all in. He enjoyed hunting deer, bear, raccoon, fishing, picking berries, gardening, camping, and just going out for a drive.

Ted is survived by his daughter Renee Zimmerman, son Brian Zimmerman, grandson Broden Zimmerman, and mother to his children Marilyn Zimmerman.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Spooner Funeral Home from 4-7pm, with a brief service at 7pm. A private interment will be held at a later date at the Sarona Cemetery.
