In Memory of Theodore J. Heino
Theodore Jason Heino, 33, of Spooner, passed away on October 15, 2022.
“Ted” to his family and those who knew him since birth, and “Theo” who came into his life after high school, was born on May 24, 1989, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to William “Brett” and Annette Heino.
His earliest years were spent in Eau Claire and then Mayville, Wisconsin, and Spooner became his home base in August of 2000.
Ted graduated from Spooner High School in 2007 and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion and Philosophy.
Ted was a voracious reader. He was always a very frugal spender all of his life, but when it came to books, there was no expense withheld. From childhood through his life, he has always had a huge inventory of books. Although he would occasionally read fiction, those weren’t in his private library. He was drawn to books of faith, religion, philosophy, and history. One of his favorite pastimes was to have deep, philosophical discussions on politics and religion. He never minded if you disagreed since it gave him the opportunity to engage you in a debate that could last for hours. He had a gift for retaining information. His family was in awe of the wealth of knowledge he had. He loved cats and dogs, hiking, attending operas, classical music, cooking new and creative dishes, playing cards, finding people with whom he could speak Spanish, and most of all, spending time with his extended family. His jokes and deep belly laughs will be greatly missed.
Ted is survived by his parents, Brett and Annette Heino, his beloved siblings Kate (David), Amanda, and Alex, his greatly loved and much respected grandparents, Bob and Ellen Reiter, and his paternal grandfather, William “Bill” Heino, his special aunt Terri Reiter, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mae Heino, who he never had the opportunity to meet; his adored great grandmother Emma Hansen; his maternal great grandfather George Hansen; and paternal great grandparents, Matt and Evelyn Reiter.
A private service will be held with an interment at the Spooner Cemetery.
