In Memory of Theodore J. Burch

July 16, 1954 - May 15, 2024

Theodore “Ted” Joseph Burch, age 69, of Luck, WI passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Ted was born on July 16, 1954 in St. Paul, MN. He was raised there by his parents, Jack and Marlyss (Morgan) Burch. In 1972, Ted graduated from St. Paul Central High School and began working at Webb publishing for many years. During that time, he had three daughters—who he lovingly referred to as “the blonde, the redhead, and the brunette.”

When the girls were young, Ted moved to Wisconsin where he later met the love of his life, Beverly Campbell. Ted always dreamed of living on the lake, and his dream came true when he and Bev moved to their house on Vincent Lake. Although Ted loved his girls, he gained the son he always wanted when he married Bev. Ted and Bev were married on July 13, 2002 on the shores of Bone Lake. They were together almost 30 years before his passing.

Ted played hockey in his younger years and continued to enjoy watching the sport throughout his life—especially the Wild. He also loved Packers football. During his free time, Ted could be found golfing, playing pool, darts, horseshoes, cribbage or doing crosswords. During his younger years, in the fall, he would go fishing in the boundary waters—trips he always looked forward to and loved telling stories about. Ted’s most prized possession was his ’75 Chevy Camaro which he spent years customizing. He was a social butterfly and was always cracking jokes. Ted’s sense of humor could sometimes be deemed inappropriate, for example with his “pooping animal” candy toys. Overall though, Ted was unapologetically himself.

Ted was preceded in death by his father, Jack and sister, Robin. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; step-mother, Marlyss; daughters, Stacey, Beth (Nate Tully), and Erin (Pete Gulich); step-son, Mike (Christy Carter) Wolff; siblings, Jack (Vicky), Steven, Cheryl Nitty, Tami (Paul) Shook, Heidi Morgan, Leslea (Clevn) Schwintek, Susanne Legato, Rachelle (Ben) Fairbanks, Marcia (David) Hubbard, Craig (Laura), and Paula (Danny) Custy; grandchildren, Alana, Ayden, Elexis, and Seth; and many nieces and nephews. Ted’s dogs were also a very special part of his life—Dewey, Bear and Lucy.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Browtine Restaurant & Event Center (1361 100th Street Amery, WI 54001).
