In Memory of Terry O. Lee

May 5, 1944 - December 1, 2022

Terry Oliver Lee, 78, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on December 1, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI following a brief battle with leukemia.

Terry was born to Oliver and Dolda (Dasen) Lee on May 5, 1944, in Fort Dodge and raised on a farm near Ottosen, Iowa.

He graduated from Twin Rivers High School in Bode, Iowa in 1962 and later received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Business Administration from the University of Iowa. Terry was drafted and served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Following his military service and formal educational pursuits, Terry’s entrepreneurial spirit led to a diverse professional career, most notably in the automotive and franchise industries, and all things classic cars.

Terry had many interests and hobbies, including playing bridge and golf, watching and rooting for the Hawkeyes, spending time on the lake, and taking trips to visit his sons and grandchildren. In retirement he stayed busier than ever - writing books, acting in plays, keeping his political blog up-to-date, and serving on the Barron County Board of Supervisors.

Terry is survived by his life partner of nearly 25 years, Marla, and four sons from two prior marriages, Jason (Misty), Brian (Annette), Aaron (Katie), and Adam (Amanda), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two older siblings, Beverly (Worby) and Robert.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Plain Cemetery in Prairie Lake Township of Chetek, Wisconsin. A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2023, to celebrate Terry’s life, his birthday, and one of his favorite holidays, Cinco de Mayo.
