In Memory of Sylvia V. Kelly
Our beautiful Angel peacefully passed away from us early in the morning of January 28, 2025, with her loving family members.
Sylvia was born in St. Paul, MN, graduated from Humboldt High School, and became a loving mother and housewife. After raising her 3 children, she worked for the Grannis and Grannis Law Firm in South St. Paul, and Grannis Hauge Law Firm in Eagan, MN, retiring after 31 years.
Sylvia and Mike met in 1980 and married in 1985. They loved to travel, visiting Spain on their honeymoon, and numerous trips to Jamaica, St. Croix, Grand Cayman, Mexico, and Hawaii.
They were snowbirds, spending 15 winters from 2005 to 2020 in Punta Gorda, Florida, fishing, sunning, swimming, relaxing, and enjoying happy hour. Summers you would find her boating on the Mississippi and St. Croix Rivers, having docked their boats at Marinas at Hastings, MN, and Prescott, WI.
Sylvia and Mike both retired in 2005 and in 2008 they built their dream home on 10 Mile Creek and moved there from Apple Valley, Minnesota.
Sylvia was an excellent cook, baker, and homemaker, and she was very meticulous about her appearance. She loved the outdoors, fishing, bird & deer watching, and boating.
On Wednesdays you would find her at the Alley playing her favorite machine, she called it her Friday Night Out.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Reige, mother, Elizabeth (Baumgartner) Reige, sisters, Francis Fleming and Ginger Eastman, brother-in-law, Bob Eastman, husbands, Leroy Aeilts and Ronald King.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 45 years, Mike, children, Kevin Aeilts, Jeffrey Aeilts, Cindy (Mike Deneen), Patrick Kelly, and Kris (Tyler Foutch) Kelly, grandchildren, Lee (Sarah) Justin, Dana, Afton, Sophie, and Liddy, and great-grandson, Riley.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the great people at Mayo Hospital and St. Croix Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Chetek Lanes and Event Center on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
