Susan Marie Donatell, 69, of Stone Lake died in her home surrounded by family on March 19, 2019.

Susan was born on January 19, 1950 in Spooner, WI to Carmen and Irene Donatell.  Graduated from Spooner High school in 1968.  After high school Susan attended college at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and then attended Loyola University in Chicago completing her medical Technology internship in 1972.

She married John Stensvold on August 2, 1975.  Over the years they made homes in Ellsworth, Hudson, and Spooner until finally settling in Stone Lake, WI.  Susan worked as a medical technician for over 30 years before making a career change to inspecting medical laboratories.  She loved to garden and created wonderful garden spaces at each of the homes she lived in. She was also involved with the Washburn County Master Gardener program where she served as president for a period of time.  

She is survived by her husband, John; children, Sonja (Brian), Krista (Ryan), and Jessica; grandchildren Kristen, Shawn, and Parker;  siblings Mary (William), John (Virginia) and Bruce.  Additionally, she is survived by a large extended family.  Sue is preceded in death by her father Carmen, mother Irene, and brothers Hank (Jan) , Tom (Sally) and Mike.

Her family will enjoy the upcoming spring and summer months in the wonderful gardens that she created which will keep her memory alive.  A private ceremony will be held there, at a future date, to celebrate her life.
