Steven M Novak, age 70, a resident of Spooner, Wisconsin, and formerly of Racine, Wisconsin, died on Monday, July 8, 2024, in Duluth, Minnesota.

Steven M Novak was born in Racine, Wisconsin, on May 30, 1954, to parents Robert and Virginia Novak. He was united in marriage to Carol Klus on June 24, 1972, in Racine. Steven worked for Azarian Wrecking for 33 years, retiring in January of 2010. The couple moved to Shell Lake in September 2012, then to their current home in Spooner in August 2023.

He was an avid deer hunter, until the passing of his father, who was his special hunting partner. He loved his Green Bay Packers, Brewers and NASCAR, especially his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He also loved to cook, make homemade sausage, and send numerous recipes via Facebook to his wife to print out. He had a passion of mowing lawns, recently mowing at Butternut Hills Golf Course. When he wasn’t doing any of the above, he loved visiting and spending time with his grandkids.

Steven is survived by wife Carol Novak, children Misti (Moe) Clinton of Cudahy, Wisconsin, Jamie (Brandi) Novak, Spooner, Wisconsin, 5 grandkids,1 great grandchild, mother Virginia Novak, brother Dennis (Beth) Novak, brothers-in-law Bryan Klus and Dave Ogren, sisters in law Priscilla Thompson, Vicki Klus, and April (Jeff) Heian, God daughter Danielle Tanner, and many nieces and nephews, and his dog Smokey.

Steven is preceded in death by his father Bob Novak, sister Sharon Ogren, brothers in law Terry Klus, and Don Thompson, father in law Shorty Klus, mother in law Virginia Klus, beloved grandson Eric White, and dogs Skippy and Peppy.

Steven’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Husak and staff, along with his dialysis nurse Jody Frankfort, and also Sue and Leeann from Hearts of Gold. Steven’s family kindly requests that no flowers be sent and that donations be sent to the cancer society of your choice, as there are no services planned at this time.
