Steven Hatcher, age 67, a resident of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, died at his home on Friday, June 23, 2017.

Steven was born on August 7, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to parents Jerry and Eleanor (Moullet) Hatcher.  As a child, the family left the Chicago area and lived in Barronett, Wisconsin for a time before moving to Grantsburg, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Grantsburg High School and went to work for Northern and later Parker-Hannifin.  Steven was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam.  After his discharge, he returned to Grantsburg and commuted to the Cities to work for Brinks Bank.  He met his longtime companion Mari Ann Larson in 1990, and they remained together until his death.  In 1996, Steven began working for the Grand Casino Hinckley until 1998 when he took a job at the Hole in the Wall Casino in Danbury where he worked in Security until 2010.  Steven was an avid fan of all Chicago sports teams, except the White Sox!  Every spring for 24 straight years, he and Mari Ann would travel to Platteville to watch the Chicago Bears at training camp.  He was also huge fan of NASCAR, and also of the Wisconsin Badgers. 

Steven is survived by his longtime companion Mari Ann Larson of Grantsburg and her children: Tammy (Mike) Ginder of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Debbie Drake of St. Cloud, MN, grandson Ryan Ginder, his sisters: Marjorie Lovejoy of Hudson, Wisconsin, Sandra Anderson of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Ken (Carol) Hatcher of Spooner, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Boofy. 

Steven is preceded in death by his parents.

Steven’s wishes were to have no formal services at this time.  Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.  Spooner Funeral Home has been entrusted with serving his family.
