In Memory of Stephen L. McKinney

July 10, 1965 - October 17, 2023

Stephen (Steve) McKinney, 58, passed away October 17, 2023, in his West Sweden home. Steve was born to Stephen and Marlyce (Clouse) McKinney on July 10, 1965. He graduated from Fredric High School.

After high school, Steve went on to work in the labor industry where he served for many years until his motorcycle accident in the summer of 2008. Anyone who knew Steve knew he could work hard and play harder. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing, especially if it meant spending time with his brothers, kids, or close friends. Steve may not have spoken his love for his kids and grandkids, but he showed it by training with them, checking in on them, and traveling all over to be there to support them.

Steve lived with an open door and never had a shortage of visitors at the house. It was rare that you would show up to the house and he wouldn’t have at least one buddy hanging out reminiscing on old times or planning future adventures. The amount of stories that were relived in his living room, the Keystone Lights that were drank, and laughs that were shared, are too numerous to count.

Steve is survived by his mother, 3 sons, Brandon (Lyssa Starr), Albie (Mandi), and Travis; grandchildren, Roman, Mckenna, Riley, Odie, Rylenn, Brielle, Steven, Alex, Aiden, Lloyd, and Brandon along with his 4-legged grandson, Chip. Steve is further survived by his 2 brothers, Donald, and Brian (Mel) along with many close friends who have become like family over the years.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, and the mother of his children, Paula LeTourneau Connors.

The family would also like to thank close friend and caregiver, Linda Duncan, for all her years of support and friendship to Steve.

We ask that you help us keep Steve’s memory alive any time you’re taking a stroll through the woods, sitting on the water, riding with the wind through your hair, or cracking a cold one.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date in November.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
