In Memory of Stanley W Wickman
Stanley W. Wickman of Shell Lake died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the age of 95 with his wife of 74 years by his side. He was born August 2, 1921 in Falun, WI to Edward and Hattie (Warner) Wickman. Stanley was the 7th of 9 sons. He was married in Barronett on October 21, 1942 to June Wahl. To that union, three sons were born. Stan spent his life in the Timberland area farming and working in construction. He loved his family, deer hunting and old time dancing.
Stan is survived by his wife, June of Spooner, sons, Byron (Sandra) Wickman of Webster, Bradley Wickman of Shell Lake and Bruce (Anne) Wickman of Spooner, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, brother, Chester Wickman of Cumberland and sister-in-law, Mildred Wickman of Marine on St. Croix, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roy, Ralph, Raymond, Joseph, Elmer, Rueben and Paul Wickman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church, Shell Lake with Pastor Sue Odegard officiating. Burial will be in Lorain Cemetery, Indian Creek at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren Thomas Wickman, David Wickman, Joseph Wickman, Bill Wickman, Becky Johnson, Bonnie Swan, Bobbi Jo Wickman, Craig Wickman and Carrie Christenson. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Church.
Due to a flower allergy, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
