Sister Mary Rita Thompson, OSM, 88, died peacefully at Ladysmith Care & Rehab on Aug. 20, 2022.

She is survived by a brother, Thomas Moore (Shirley) Thompson of Shingle Springs, CA, many nieces and nephews, and the Ladysmith Servite Sisters, with whom she shared life for 74 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret Gail (Patrick) Enright, and her brother William Howard (Helen) Thompson.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Ladysmith, with Father Papi Reddy Yeruva and Deacon Craig Voldberg officiating.

Visitation will be at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Servants of Mary, PO Box 389, Ladysmith, WI 54848.
