Menno M. Kuhns, 82, went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2017 at Maple Ridge Care Center, Spooner, WI. He was born on January 20, 1935 in Milford, Indiana to Menno and Fannie (Miller) Kuhns. He was third youngest of 12 children.  It was in a little country school that he met his childhood sweetheart, Esther Yoder, and they soon became best friends.  On October 15, 1955 he married Esther, and this friendship has carried through for 61 years of marriage. Together they have 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

At the age of 11, Menno started working for a farmer to help support his family, as his father had passed away when he was in 1st grade.  In his late teens, he felt a call from God to enter the ministry.  He continued to farm until he received his first call to pastor a small church in northern Michigan.  In 1961, at age 26, he moved his family to Harbor Springs, MI.  He served in the ministry there at Stutsmanville Chapel for 13 years.  In 1974, he took a pastorate in Trego, WI where he ministered at two churches, Trego Community Church and Trego Open Door Chapel.  Altogether, he pastored for 30 years.   In addition to being a pastor, he enjoyed building and remodeling, which he did throughout the years until retiring in 2010.

Menno loved his family and enjoyed all of the reunions, birthdays and holidays spent with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working with his hands, reading, fishing, playing games and spending time with family and friends. He loved to travel, especially to Arizona in the winter and Alaska in the summer to visit family.
