March 9, 1938 - May 25, 2019

Shirley N. Roring-Peterson, age 81, of New Post, WI died Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Waters Edge Care Center in Hayward.

Shirley Noreen Coffman was born March 9, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Frank and Christine (Woods) Coffman, and lovingly raised by Christine and Clifford Hoff. She enjoyed growing up with her eight sisters and two brothers around the Minneapolis area, with fond memories. Shirley married the love of her life, Dick Klatt, and raised seven children with him in Colorado until his death. She continued as a single parent to raise them until they were independent with lives of their own. Shirley moved back to Minnesota to begin a new chapter of her life. She traveled and lived and lost with her second marriage to Herb Roring. Shirley soon found new love and life with Don Peterson in Deerwood. They enjoyed several years together, spending much of their time antiquing. Don recently preceded her in death on May 2, 2019. Shirley came to Hayward to help her mother in her late years. She enjoyed Hayward and soon was fascinated with her Ojibwe heritage. She researched and wrote about the family history and shared it with her family. Shirley enjoyed quilting, reading, genealogy, volunteering and learning about her Ojibwe culture. She was proud to be a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Ojibwe.

She is survived by her children Tony Klatt, Ken Klatt, Rod Klatt, Colleen (Jan) Taylor, Teresa Klatt & Tim Klatt; grandchildren Jeremy Carr, Jason Taylor, Stephanie (Rafael) Rodriquez, Julianne Taylor, John Klatt; great grandchildren Faith, Josiah & Serenity; brother Frank (Bernell) Coffman; sisters Joyce Burns, Wilma Torsky, Rose (Roger) Nelson & Candy Simons; many nieces & nephews whom she loved dearly.
