Shirley Ann Miller, 88, of Cumberland, died Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Care and Rehab-Cumberland. She was born September 5, 1931, in Cumberland to Gerhard and Erna (Schlieker) Heinecke and was raised in McKinley, where she attended country school through the 8th grade. Shirley graduated from Cumberland High School on May 27, 1949. She was married in Cumberland on September 12, 1953, to Fred H. Miller. Shirley raised her children and kept the home for many years. She was a devoted Christian and was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, having been baptized on September 27, 1931, and confirmed in the faith on July 29, 1945.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Randy) Flach of Cumberland; her son, David of Cumberland; daughter-in-law, Doreen of Cumberland; 5 grandchildren; Mike (Angie) Miller of Rice Lake, Cassandra (Ryan) Prechel of Hillsboro, Dustin Flach of Eau Claire, Cody Flach of Cumberland and Mandy Flach of Cumberland; 2 great-grandchildren: Abby and Brock Prechel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her husband, Fred preceded her in death on July 6, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce and her brother, Donald Heinecke.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland and for an hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cumberland with Rev. John Miels officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Cumberland. Pallbearers are David Miller, Mike Miller, Cassandra Prechel, Dustin Flach, Cody Flach, and Mandy Flach.
