In Memory of Sharron A. Hansen

April 26, 1944 - February 20, 2024

Sharron Ann Hansen, 79, of Prairie Farm passed away peacefully February 20, 2024, in Rice Lake, WI after a long journey with dementia.

She was born April 26, 1944, in Sheridan Township, WI to Carl and Mary (Roemhild) Wold, and was raised in a large, loving family in the Connersville area. Sharron was baptized and confirmed at West Akers Church in Prairie Farm.

After Sharron graduated from high school, she decided to venture out to the Twin Cities with a number of girlfriends to work in the corporate world. While she was on the Twin Cities venture, she had two children and married Raymond Hansen on May 30, 1968, (no, not at all at the same time!). Sharron and Ray moved back to the country in the Prairie Farm area. Ray went to follow his passion of carpentry by working for Sharron’s father. Sharron put her fine communication and math skills to work by pursuing a career in retail. She started by working for Lien’s Grocery Store in Prairie Farm and then moved onto Kmart in Menominee as the bookkeeper and office entertainer. Sharron and Ray loved to travel early in their marriage and then they got the camping bug. Fun on the road went to fun on the water as they motored around on their pontoon fishing, and many campfire gatherings at the campground. When Sharron was not working or camping, she enjoyed her grandchildren and later, great-grandchildren. There were many “made up” games and stories, always followed by a bowl of ice cream and giggles. Sharron also volunteered at the local food pantry at her church; She loved helping others out when they were in need.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa (Erich Quade) Norberg of Clayton; son, David (Sharon) Bishop of Owatonna, MN; grandchildren Tara (Brent) Young of Hillsdale, Karl (Gina) Norberg of Prairie Farm, Codie Bishop (Kelley) of Lakeville, MN, Koltt (Natasha) Norberg of Prairie Farm, and Samantha Bishop of Rochester, MN; great-grandchildren: Carmen, Rylee, Zanna, Stellan, Paisley, Bentley, Whitney and Sullivan; siblings, Sheldon (Ardie) Wold and Clayton (Rosemary) Wold; and many nieces and nephews. Sharron is also survived by family, friends, and community that she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; son-in-law, Brian Norberg; and many other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 24, 2024 at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Pastor Sara Feld officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers are Karl Norberg, Koltt Norberg, Codie Bishop, Brent Young, Ryan Siebert, and Darryl Wold. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, March 23rd, 2024 at United Lutheran Church of Prairie Farm.
