In Memory of Sharon A. Kottke
Sharon Ann Kottke, (lovingly known as “Aunt Short”), age 80, of Dallas, Wisconsin, left our world on Sunday, July 21, 2024 after a life richly lived in service & kindness.
Sharon was born on March 31, 1944 during a blizzard in Wilson Township to Edwin and Evelyn (Schleusner) Kottke. She graduated from Prairie Farm High School. Known for Sunday School teaching, involvement in numerous church committees and 4-H project leadership, Sharon touched many lives in our community. Sharon obtained her cosmetology license in Eau Claire and worked in area beauty salons for many years. Later on, she became a Certified Nursing Assistance and worked in area nursing homes. In her semi-retirement years, she enjoyed working at Jerry’s Floral making bouquets and Ben Franklin cutting material and answering all questions craft related. Sharon was a lover of reading, gardening, crafts, sewing, and baking. She especially had a green thumb for a wide variety of beautiful irises she grew in her back yard. Sharon never had her own children, but her nieces and nephews were her world. She enjoyed taking them to Dairy Queen for a treat, to ball practices and games, sewing Halloween or school play costumes, playing lawn games and helping them with school work, especially English.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen.
She is survived by her brother, Donald, her sister, Bonnie, her Aunt, Millie, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Prairie Farm, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Roger Quandt officiating and interment following in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Satruday.
