In Memory of Scott Allen Greenfield

Scott Greenfield, age 49, of Shell Lake, WI passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Scott Allen was born May 29, 1969 in Watertown, SD the son of Roger and Marilyn (Mennenga) Greenfield. He grew up on the family farm in Castlewood, SD and excelled in high school athletics. Specifically, he was a key player on the Warriors team in the 1985 State “B” Bastketball Tournament as a sophomore. He was also was the starting QB on a football team that went 10-1 and just missed the state championship game. Scott graduated from high school in Castlewood, SD in 1987 and went onto college at Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD, Southwest State University in Marshall, MN and Northern University in Aberdeen, SD. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Northern University and then went onto school at the University of Minnesota. Scott received an associate degree from the University of Minnesota and began a career as an assistant golf course superintendent. He worked in Denver, CO and then Aberdeen, SD as an assistant superintendent before moving to Spooner, WI where he became Superintendent of the Spooner Golf Club. After leaving the golf club, Scott was employed with T&T Tool in Spooner. Scott enjoyed golfing, stock car races, watching sports, and the Green Bay Packers. He was an excellent cook and was very proud of his landscaping. Scott will be remembered for his huge personality, love of his entire family especially his daughter Sydney, big smile and big hugs.
On September 14, 2002 Scott was joined in marriage to Amy Sundeen at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Spooner, WI. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Amy; daughter, Sydney Greenfield of Shell Lake, WI; parents, Roger and Marilyn Greenfield of Castlewood, SD sister, Melissa Greenfield of Castlewood; mother and father-in-law, Steve and Barb Sundeen of Spooner, WI; two brothers-in-law, Ryan (Maureen) Sundeen of Blaine, MN, Taylor (Gina) Sundeen of Maple Grove, MN; two nephews; four nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his uncle, Rick Greenfield and cousin Terry VanDykhorst.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Scott at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church in Spooner with Father Andrew Ricci officiating, and readers Aaron Sundeen and Craig Trenary. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Spooner Funeral Home and from noon until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
Casket bearers will be Rob Mitchell, Jeff Rymerson, Kelly Sunde, Ryan Sundeen, Taylor Sundeen, Craig Trenary, Tim McCurdy, and Mark Spease.
