In Memory of Scot Langeness


December 25, 1951 - November 10, 2020

On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, Scot Alan Langeness, husband, father and grandfather passed away after a brave fight with cancer.

Scot was born on December 5, 1951 in Des Moines, IA to Charles and Mary Margaret (Stene) Langeness.  He grew up in West Des Moines with his siblings, Joy, Chuck (CE) and Jim.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing trips to Canada, snowmobiling and laughing with friends at happy hour around town with his wife, Cheryl.  They married on December 15, 1985 in Las Vegas at The Little Chapel of the West.

Scot was a charismatic, fun loving and hardworking man.  His thumbprint is left all over the area through his business, Luck Landscaping.  He was proud of his work and always gave his projects 100%.  He also enjoyed snowplowing in his “Big Red” truck(s) and later the “Lone Grey Wolf” and was known as the “Plow King” around town.

Scot served as a board member of the Luck Village and Luck Lutheran Church.  He was also a member of the Luck Lions Club for over 15 years and was the recipient of the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellow Award.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl and children, Margaret (Juan), Peter, Sean (Ami), Jennifer, Julia (Matt); grandchildren, Santino, Andrew, Courtney, Luke, Jacob, Max, Landon and Brady; siblings, Joy (Charles) Coppola, Charles (Sandi) and James (Carol); in-laws, Lorraine Spence, Craig (Carol) Spencer, Sandy (Randy) Enger, Scott Spencer and Terry (Staci) Spence; special uncle, Sig Stene; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Scot is preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Mary Margaret.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Scot did not wish to have a service which would put family and friends at risk.  Cards, donations and sympathy for the family can be sent to Cheryl Langeness at P.O. Box 436, Luck, WI  54853.
