In Memory of Sandra J. Raddatz
Sandra "Sandy" Jean Raddatz, age 77, of New Richmond, Wisconsin passed away Monday, October 21, 2024 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sandy was born to Isvold "Bud" and Sadie Hendrickson on September 17,1947 in Osceola, Wisconsin. She was the youngest of 4. She would tell stories of riding along with her dad as he drove through the countryside to different farms breeding cows and selling equipment. She had many fond memories of spending her younger years at the farm on Horse Lake.
Bob and Sandy started dating in their last few years of high school. She graduated from Osceola in 1965. After graduation, Sandy took a job and an apartment in the cities. She would ride the bus or Bob would pick her up on the weekends to come home. City life wasn't for Sandy, so after about a year, she returned to New Richmond.
Bob and Sandy were married on June 30, 1967. They were blessed with three wonderful boys and 57 years of marriage. In the early years, they lived on the Raddatz Family Farm near Cedar Lake, near Centuria, and in what she fondly described as the "pink house" (because the exterior color was pink). They settled in New Richmond in 1978 and have been there since. Each and every place she made a home and made many friends along the way.
Sandy had always worked in customer service in one form or another, from the law office, chiropractic office, and laundromat to most recently, the grocery store in the center of town. She looked forward to being able to greet each and every guest and ask them about their day and their loved ones. She became close to many guests and co-workers and loved that they made her feel welcome "even at my age" she would say. She always had a smile for everyone she would meet.
Sandy enjoyed flowers, crafting, reading, baking, thrifting and collecting. She was always saving a recipe or directions on how to make something she found that would look cute or taste good. She loved going for rides with Bob when he would go on service calls and on the ranger through the countryside. She loved visiting with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie in 2002 and Bud in 2014, and her brother Rodney in 1995.
Sandy is survived by her husband Bob, her three boys, Steve (Chris), Tim (Prudie) and Todd (Heather), grandchildren Samantha (Jim), Ashley, Amber (JP), Jesse, Titus, Lucas, Sadie and great-grandchildren, Jayson, Lillie, Justin, and Deacon, and by her brother Jim and sister Judy (Lee), and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Gateway House of Prayer (formerly St. Peter's Lutheran Church) 223 E State St, Dresser, WI with visitation beginning prior to the service at 10am. Burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery behind the church.
