On October 26, 2023, Sandra Jean Olson was reunited in Heaven with her husband and both of their children.

Sandie was born on September 17, 1941 in Barron to Kenneth and Maxine (Gulickson) Kuehndorf.

Sandie graduated from Barron High School in 1959. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur (Art) Olson. They went on to have two children together. The young couple suffered the loss of their firstborn daughter, Tammy when she was just 6 years old.

Sandie found joy in her daughter, Mindy and granddaughter, Sarah. Sandie enjoyed baking, sewing, bird watching, playing cards with her friends at the senior center, and trying her luck at the casino. Sandie laughed with ease and often. Those close to her can still hear her laugh when they picture her. While one’s body is temporary, one’s love lives forever.

Sandie was a committed caretaker. She worked for several years in this profession. She was adored by all her clients; her witty sense of humor and her extraordinary storytelling skills could brighten even the darkest of days. All these traits made her a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Sarah Olson; her sisters, Judy Ludvigson and Karen (Roland) Amundson; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and two daughters, Sandie was preceded in death by her parents; brother; sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law; and a nephew.

A funeral service for Sandie will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Barron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
