In Memory of Sandie K. Merry


March 17, 1961 - July 8, 2024

Sandie Kay Merry, 63, of Cumberland passed peacefully surrounded by her family, July 8, 2024, at her home. She was born March 17, 1961, in Rice Lake, WI to Gerald “Shorty” and Vera (Anderson) Larson Sr. She was married in Barron, WI on December 15, 1978, to Earl Merry.

Sandie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She went by names some being: Big Chief, Deer Slayer, Wicky Wick, Newspaper, and oodles more. She will be deeply missed. She takes with her the many secrets that were shared with her by so many!

Sandie had a huge heart, was always willing to be an ear and a lending hand wherever and whenever she could. The time she spent with her family was the most precious to her. She also enjoyed camping, playing many card games, playing Yahtzee with good friends, and sneaking out to the casino.

She is survived by husband, Earl; children: Cherlyn Griffin, Miranda (Rex) Brenizer, Kelsey (Patti) Merry, Tina (Zach) Gray, and Angela (John) Pomales; grandchildren: Drake Broker, Raven (Emma Thompson) Merry, Vincent Merry, James Merry, Hayden Merry, LJ Pomales, and Jaden Pomales; great granddaughter, Iverly Merry; brothers: Joe (Linda) Larson, Dan (Chris) Larson, Gary (Sue) Larson, and Jim Larson; sisters, Lois Benson, and Judy Boettcher; sisters-in-law: Diana Larson, Janelle Larson, and Joyce Norby; oodles of nieces and nephews both local and far away.

Sandie was preceded in death by her parents: Shorty and Vera; brothers: Paul and Gene; son-in-law, Daniel Griffin; parents-in-law: James and Ruth Merry; sister-in-law, Janet Kock; brother-in-law, Frederic Boettcher; nephew, Travis Yoder; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, August 8, 2024, at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be at a later date. Honorary pallbearers are James, Hayden, Vincent, LJ, Raven, Jaden, and Drake. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland and one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers please plant a tree in Sandie's name.
