Sally Ann Steine, age 87, of Barron passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her home.

She was born on June 22, 1937 in Lake City, Minnesota to Martin and Stella (McNeil) Olson. The family of 5 boys and 5 girls moved at a young age to South Minneapolis where her father got a job driving bus for the city transit.

As a young woman, Sally lived short times in Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado.

She worked as a secretary for the great 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was very proud of her perfect attendance and punctuality. She met Gary at an employee Christmas party. They married at Minnesota Hope Free Church in Washington County, Minnesota in June of 1991. They were both in their 50’s, the first marriage for each of them. They retired and moved to Barron in 1996.

She loved to golf, play bridge and attending services at First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Steine of Barron; sister, Gene Yonak of Minnesota; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

A memorial service for Sally Steine will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Barron. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be on a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
