Sallie L. Carlson, age 80, of Hayward, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Water’s Edge Care Center in Hayward, Wisconsin.

Sallie was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, on December 28, 1943, daughter of Lawrence and Grace (Garrett) Nelson. She was raised on Little Lake Wissota, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where she attended Stillson School and high school in Chippewa Falls where she would graduate. On March 9, 1963, Sallie was joined in marriage to William A. Carlson in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

The family then moved to Hayward, Wisconsin in 1977. She enjoyed spending winters in Alamo, Texas with family and good friends.

She is survived by her children, Todd (Karen) Carlson, Scott (Deanna) Carlson, and Kelli (Terry) Coen, all of Hayward, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Anton, Nathaniel, Heather (Matt) Gavin, Bailey, and Amy; her great-grandchildren, Carter, Sophie, and Stella; her sister, Bonnie Thornbauar of Mission Viejo, California; her brother-in-law, Rick (Karen) Carlson of Altoona, Wisconsin; her sister-in-law, Shelly Carlson of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; her dear friends, Carol Clifford, Randy and Janice Snyder, Mark and Marge Kelsey, and Janice Miles (Fagerlund); and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sallie is preceded in death by her husband, Bill of 60 years; her sister-in-law, Patricia Swietzer; her brother-in-law, Thomas Carlson; and sister, Shelby.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Hayward Funeral Home, 15571W County Highway B in Hayward, where Visitation will be held from Noon until the hour of the service. Interment will be held privately.
