Ryan Francis Bohn (28) passed away suddenly on January 13, 2024.

Ryan was born on July 9, 1995, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Geoffrey and Lorene (Wroblewski-Massey) Bohn.

Ryan attended school in Rice Lake where he ran cross country and excelled in hands-on creative courses, such as woodworking and art. Ryan created some wonderful pieces of furniture, and one of the pictures he drew was selected to be in the school calendar. After graduation in 2013, Ryan attended The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota for two years. Ryan then decided to take a break from college and returned to Rice Lake where he worked multiple jobs, but you would have most likely found him working at Badger Vapes or Slumberland Furniture. In 2022, Ryan moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin with his kitties and began working in the Menards Distribution Center. Ryan truly enjoyed working at Menards and the friendships he made with his coworkers. When not working, he could be found spending time with his friends, playing disc golf whenever and wherever possible. Ryan enjoyed learning new things and tinkering. An example is his BMW, which he drove a little too fast at times. He took great pride in keeping it clean and shiny. Whenever it wasn’t running well, he would research the problem, YouTube the solution, buy the tools he didn’t yet have, and fix it himself. Ryan was always up for adventure, whether it was on a zip line or swimming with dolphins, cliff jumping or dog sledding on Madeline Island, or on a Snake River rafting trip with his Auntie Andrea. He liked to visit the Lake Superior Ice Caves, when mother nature allowed, enjoyed kayaking the shores of Lake Superior and Rice Lake, and earned his Airplane Pilot’s License in 2021. Ryan loved his family. His Grandpa Jack, Grandma Barb and Uncle Paul lived on Madeline Island, which he also naturally came to love. He, along with his brother, Kevin, spent countless days hunting, fishing, playing,and exploring the island in the summer and fall, and visited the Florida Keys in the winter and spring. He enjoyed Canada fishing trips with his Grandpa Gary, Uncle Steve, cousin Abigail, cousin-in-law Merle, and his fishing family from Grantsburg. Ryan made an effort to make it to as many family gatherings as he could. He valued the joy and support that he gave to and received from his family. Ryan was a kind and caring person who greeted you with a smile. He was a good friend that you could count on to always be there for you. Ryan was a tender-hearted guy, with a kind soul, who was taken away from us way too soon.

Ryan is survived by his mother Lorene (David) Massey; his father Geoffrey (Sandie) Bohn; his brother Kevin (Anna) Bohn; his stepbrothers Doc Massey, Tyler (Jamie Barta) LeVan; his stepsister Alesia (Christopher) Williams; his uncles Paul (Connie) Wroblewski, Steven (Rachel) Bohn; his aunt Andrea (Pat Legel) Bohn; his cousins Daniel (Jaclyn) Lindsey, Alex (Carrie) Lindsey, Abigail Bohn, Lillian and Adelaide Wroblewski; his kitties Left Foot and No Foot; and many more cousins and friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Barb Wroblewski, Gary and Susan Bohn; aunt Debra Wroblewski–Knop and uncle and aunt Thomas and Joan Bohn, who were infants at the time of their passing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Joseph Kumar officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Friday, January 26, 2024 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers Ryan’s family is planning on placing a memorial bench in the disc golf course by the Cedar Side Trail area in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. A memorial fund account will be set up at Community Bank with locations in Cameron, Siren or Grantsburg.
