In Memory of Ruth Paulson
October 31, 1923 - June 16, 2018
Ruth Paulson, age 94, a resident of Spooner, died on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Spooner Health in Spooner.
Ruth was born on October 31, 1923, at the family home in Spooner to parents Sid and Mary (Postweiler). She attended the old Hammil School and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1941. Ruth was baptized, confirmed and on May 16, 1945, united in marriage to Guy “Bill” Paulson at the old Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner. After their marriage the couple moved about for a year or so until Bill was honorably discharged from the US Navy and they moved back to Spooner where they would remain until their passing. Ruth was a supportive wife to her husband’s endeavors and also served her Church where she helped with the Church Newsletter and also was Treasurer for Goslin Court. She was also a supporter of the Spooner Rails sports teams and a huge fan of the Packers and Brewers.
Ruth is survived by her sons Pete of Shell Lake, Steve of Spooner, grandsons Joshua and Jacob, and 3 great-grandchildren: Kenton, Jackson and Makayla.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Guy “Bill” Paulson, sister Elaine Anderson, and nephews David and Sydney.
Memorial services for Ruth Paulson will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 11am, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Spooner with Pastor Dan Hermanson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, from 9-11am, at the Church. Interment with her husband Bill will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
