Ruth D. Knapmiller, 88, of Birchwood, WI passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI on her 88th Birthday.  

She was born on July 21, 1931, in Barronett, WI, the daughter of William and Magdaline Bolden Rydberg. After high school Ruth moved to Rice Lake to pursue a career in teaching, and continued with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marian College in Fond du Lac. On September 6, 1952, she married Henry “Bud” Knapmiller in Birchwood.  After retirement Ruth and Bud moved back to Birchwood from Cedarburg. Ruth was involved in the Food Pantry and Senior Center in Birchwood.

She is survived by her children: Mary (Steve Smith) Buelow of Fond du Lac, Carol (Ed) Paegelow of Mt. Calvary, Kathryn (Jeff) Hansen of Plymouth, Patricia (Randy) Klug of Plymouth, and Gregory Knapmiller of Rice Lake; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, her brother, Willard (Rita) Rydberg, WA, and her special friend, Fern Magnusson of Hayward.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud, son David, son-in-law, Bill Buelow and an infant grandson, Samuel Hansen and her brothers: Wendell, Lester and Phillip.   Mom will be remembered for her quick wit and always seeing the good in everyone.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, with Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Saturday.  

In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Birchwood Food Pantry or Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
