In Memory of Ruth H. Nutt
Ruth Hope Nutt went home to Jesus on August 13, 2024, at the age of 87.
Ruth was born to Evelyn and Joseph C. Smith on December 1, 1936 in Meenon Township, Burnett County, WI. Ruth attended elementary school in Balsam Lake and graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1956. As a young woman, Ruth enjoyed cooking and baking. Her favorite class in High School was Home Economics where she learned her domestic skills. Ruth met her husband, Stanley Nutt, in 1958 at the Frederic Hospital where she worked as a nurse. They married June 20, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Milltown, WI and went on to have four children: Douglas, Wayne, Debra and Sandra.
Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of eight, and at the age of fourteen she chose to publicly profess her faith by being baptized. Her faith in Christ was strong and she devoted her time to reading scripture and praying for each of her children, sixteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
Ruth loved spending time with all her family during the holidays and other special occasions. She also enjoyed writing out personal cards for each family member for Christmas and birthdays. Ruth will be remembered for her beautiful smile,, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering faith in God.
Ruth is preceded in death by Stanley Nutt, Evelyn and Joseph C. Smith, brothers: Donald and Daniel Smith, and sister, Donna Mae Smith.
She is survived by her four children: Douglas (Patricia) Nutt, Wayne (Cheryl) Nutt, Debra (Gordon) Allebach, Sandra (Bret) Lindaman; sixteen grandchildren: Andrew Nutt, Sarah (Randall) Westerberg, Rebecca (Justin) Benz, Amy (Jason) Mathews, Bonnie Nutt, Mary Nutt, Christy Nutt, Joshua Nutt, Amanda Nutt, Bradley (Shaina) Nutt, Bethany (Daniel) Burkett, Brenna (Phillip) Preston, David Nutt, Asher Allebach, Jared (Carlyn) Lindaman, Taylor (Kayli) Lindaman; twenty great grandchildren: siblings: Paul Smith, Leslie Smith, Darleen Barnes, Isabelle Mullins, Rose Peterson, Lois Lott and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dove Healthcare and the St Croix Hospice Team for their care of Ruth during these last weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Gideons to purchase Bibles: www.gideons.org/donate.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM (visitation 10-11 AM) at First Baptist Church in Webster. Interment will be at Webb Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Lindaman, Taylor Lindaman, Joshua Nutt, Andrew Nutt, Asher Allebach and Phillip Preston.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
