In Memory of Ruth E. Jerome


December 27, 1927 - September 3, 2022

Ruth E. Jerome, age 94, a resident of Spooner passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022.

Ruth was born in Lancaster, MN on December 25, 1927 to John and Julia Arin.

She and Lee were married in Lancaster on March 15, 1946. After Lee’s stint in the US Army, they moved to Hopkins, MN, where they ran the Sinclair gas station. They moved to Danbury, WI in 1962 when they owned and operated the Lazy Bar, now Wild Waters. With her years of bartending brought experience, made her spicey and tough which brought lots of stories. She enjoyed visiting with her customers and making them laugh. She was a bartender in the area until she retired.

Lee and Ruth enjoyed traveling in their Pace Arrow RV for 6 years, traveling all over the United States. This is what made Ruth happy. They then built a home in Mission, TX but eventually made their way back to Danbury to be closer to family.

She was the Bingo Queen at all the local senior centers. She played this up until a few days before she passed. Win or lose, she said if she broke even, she was happy. She truly enjoyed the game.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Lee and her parents.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Jerome and David Jerome; daughter, Vicki (Gary) Schaaf; two grandsons, Jack and Buck; 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; along with other relatives and many dear friends.

No formal services will be held. Memorials can be mailed to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home PO Box 6 Webster, WI 54893 in memory of Ruth.
