In Memory of Rose Williamson


April 11, 1941 - November 28, 2019

Rose Marie Williamson of Cumberland died Friday, November 28, 2019, at her home. She was born April 11, 1941, in Milnor, ND to Menerson and Laura Smith was raised there and graduated from Milnor High School. She met Lyle Williamson and they married June 26, 1959, in Milnor. They lived in North Dakota for four years and then moved with three small children to Barron before making their way to Cumberland, WI. They made a home for their five children in Cumberland and resided there for 53 years. Rose worked many jobs in Cumberland while raising her family.

Rose loved many things including quilting, baking, gardening, bird watching, garage sales, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. Her biggest passion was her grandkids. She was always a true friend and many could rely on her for May Day baskets.

She is survived by 2 sons; Mike Williamson of Turtle Lake, Terry Williamson of Cumberland; 3 daughters; Beth (Renee) Wiger of St. Paul, MN, Kristie (Greg) Hornung of Cumberland, Julie (Kevin) Scanlan of Eau Claire, WI. 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Her 2 brothers; Gene (Henrietta) Smith, Ray (Mitzi) Smith; 1 sister, Susan (Jim) Hagge; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, and her mother and father.

A Memorial Gathering for Rose will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland. There will be a celebration of Life for her birthday in April of 2020 at her residence.
