Rose Theresa Nelson Age 91, of Sarona, WI, died Monday, May 13, 2024 in LaCrosse, WI.

She was born on October 3, 1932 in Haugen, WI to Joseph and Mary (Shimek) Uchytil. Rose attended Haugen High School and was married to Norman Nelson on September 27, 1952 in Haugen. They dairy farmed in the Township of Oak Grove for many years. She loved going to Canada fishing, and enjoyed being with her family.

She is survived by 4 children, Robert (Linda) Nelson, Joan (Dean) Chappell, John (Cheryl) Nelson and Linda (John) Zoellick; 7 grandchildren, Thomas (Tracey) Nelson, Melissa (Zac) Todd, Bill (Kristina) Chappell, Amy (Troy) Dyzak, Matthew (Karisa) Zoellick, Jacob Zoellick and Samantha Solie; 6 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren, Dean (Kristine) Chappell, Casey (Scott) Grover, Eugene (Heather) Jones and Nathan Jones; 6 step great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Sandy) Uchytil; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Nelson; her parents, Joseph and Mary Uchytil; 5 sisters, Marie Librande, Frances Prock, Helen Zalesny, Irene Konop and Josie Romanowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Tuesday May 21, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Haugen, WI, Father Father Isaiah Schick officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Monday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
