Ronald “Ron” Deraitus Age 74, of Birchwood, WI, died Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Rice Lake, WI.

He was born on May 16, 1950 in Rice Lake, WI to William and Frances (Daraska) Deraitus.

Ron attended school in Birchwood and then was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era and was later Honorably Discharged. He was married to Sandra LaLiberty on May 31, 1975 in Barron, WI. Ron worked for Birchwood Lumber and Veneer for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and messing around at the homestead farm.

He is survived by his son, Mike Deraitus (Nicci Minnick); 2 grandsons, Easton and Hunter; 3 brothers, Edward (Irmgard) Deraitus, Stanley (Barb) Deraitus and his twin brother, Raymond Deraitus; many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Deraitus; a son, Jason “JJ” Deraitus; and his parents, William and Frances Deraitus; 2 brothers, William and Richard Deraitus; 2 sisters, Valentine Skrabutenas and Delores Deraitus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, WI, Father Adam Laski officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood, WI, with Military Rites accorded him by the Birchwood American Legion Post. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is serving and assisting the family with the arrangements.
