In Memory of Ronald D. Welch
Ronald Welch was born on July 20th, 1942 to William Welch and Geraldine Welch in Kewanee, IL.
After college Ron went back to Kewanee to help launch the WQAD TV station and its original content such as the Acri Creature Feature hosted by himself and Bill Flannery. After a short time at CBS Sports Radio Covering Nascar Ron took the position of Creative Director of the Weddle/Caldwell Agency in Las Vegas where he won the Golden Gate award at the San Francisco Film Festival along with 17 Addy awards for his work in commercials and film.
In the Early 90’s Ron found his way back to the Midwest, in charge of a radio group which managed 15 radio stations in Minnesota and Wisconsin included WHSM and 910 Sports Radio in Hayward, WI for 20 years. During retirement he penned 5 children’s booked focused on animal rights activism include Button: a forever friend and Big Al and the Red Canvas Feet.
He is survived by his 4 Children Jeffrey, Jackie, Zachary and Jason along with seven grandchildren.
