In Memory of Roger Stahl
Roger Stahl, age 74, of Spider Lake, WI passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019 at his home.
Roger Elliott Stahl was born April 14, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Leonard) Stahl. Roger was raised in Glendale and Ridgewood, NY. He graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and then worked for a short time with Con Edison, a power company in New York. Roger moved to Superior, WI where he attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior for a year. He transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Stout where he received a bachelors degree with a major in Psychology and Sociology. On November 16, 1968, Roger was united in marriage to Linda Howell in Durand, WI. They raised their family in Elk Mound, WI. Roger took a job with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as the Media Director, a position he held for over ten years. He then worked for the Eau Claire Area School District at Memorial High School and later South Middle School as a Technology Coordinator. While working for the schools he also completed his Master’s Degree in education. Roger retired in 2000 to care for Linda who would pass away that same year. He moved to Eau Claire in 2002 and there he married Jeanne Ann Heinemann. Roger and Jeanne moved to the home they built on Spider Lake near Hayward, WI. Roger was active with the Spider Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Midwest Renewable Energy Group and as a volunteer for the Lumberjack World Championships in Hayward. Throughout Roger’s life he loved to travel with his family. While raising his family they spent many summers traveling to national parks and camping throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada and Mexico. In later years he enjoyed taking cruises and visiting beach resorts.
Roger is survived by his wife Jeanne; two sons, Sean (Kimberly) Stahl of Shakopee, MN, Keenan (Rebecca) Stahl of Glenwood City, WI; three step children, Mark (Aundrea) Worthing of Edgerton, WI, Kelli Worthing of Eau Claire, WI; Brent (Jessica) Worthing of Stow, OH; grandchildren, Kodey (Briana) Stahl, Kailey (Garrett) Bonte, Sydney Stahl, Ethan Stahl, Mikkyla Worthing, Jayce Worthing, Brynn Worthing; two great grandchildren, Brantley Bonte and Kamdyn Stahl; and two siblings, Nancy Carol Stahl of Newton, NC and Martin Stahl, of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Linda.
A funeral service will be held for Roger at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, at Hayward Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
