In Memory of Roger L. Hancock


May 21, 1945 - February 23, 2023

Roger L. Hancock, age 77, of Rice Lake, WI died Thursday, February 23rd, 2023 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born on May 21st, 1945 to Albert & Ores (Robinson) Hancock at Birmingham, Alabama.

During his childhood & adolescent years, the family moved around and resided in Alabama, Pennsylvania & Ohio. After high school, he served in the US Marine Corps. He was on sea duty aboard a ship during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was stationed at Oceanside, CA & was present for a Nevada Nuclear Weapons test. In 1962, he was married to Mary Kathryn Jernigan & they later divorced. On July 21st, 1969, he was married to Patricia Kahl at Anoka, MN. Roger worked at many various jobs throughout the years. His main passions in life were stamps & coins, gardening, reading-especially history, the Marine Corps, military weapons & aircraft, coffee & spending time with family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Pat on January 31st, 2022, daughter: Penny Warchol & grandson: Nathaniel Bull. He is survived by his sons: Roger (Kris) Ripplinger of Eau Claire & Zachary (Lynn) Hancock of Barron, daughters: Billy Hancock (Brian Booth) of Rice Lake & Jennifer Ruthven (Ricky) of Rice Lake, grandchildren: David, Travis & Ryan Ripplinger, Nathaniel & Austin Hancock-Booth, Brianna (Ryan) Thon, Connor & Saffron Ruthven, Enzo Kwaitkowski, Alyssa Bull & Chloe Hancock, 10 great grandchildren, brother: David Hancock, as well as many other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2nd at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Ralph Marquardt officiating and interment following at Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner.

Visitation will be held for the hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
