In Memory of Roberta P. Overby
Roberta P. Overby, 82, of Chetek, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 3, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1941, in Eau Claire, WI.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Chetek. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M.
Bobbette, known affectionately by many, touched the lives of countless people with her generosity and willingness to help others. She was the devoted wife of Dennis Overby, with whom she shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, raising two sons who were the center of her world.
Throughout her life, Bobbette embraced many roles. She worked as a substitute teacher in the Chetek school system for many years and also spent time in real estate. Additionally, she was appointed to the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, where her dedication and service were valued, further demonstrating her commitment to making the community a better place.
Most importantly, Bobbette was a loving wife and caring mother. Her family always came first, and she created a warm, welcoming home filled with love. She was also the best neighbor anyone could ask for, always there with a kind word and a helping hand.
Her presence in the community was deeply felt by all who knew her. Whether volunteering with Meals on Wheels or simply offering support when needed, Bobbette embodied the spirit of selflessness and generosity. She was always willing to pitch in and brighten the lives of those around her.
Bobbette’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Roberta is survived by her two sons, Steve Overby of Chetek, WI, and Brian Overby of Lake Wylie, NC; her sister-in-law, Marian Kolsky; her nephew, Mike Kolsky of Minneapolis, MN; her niece, Jodi (Nelson) Contreras of Texas; her nephew, Chris Kolsky of Duluth, MN; her nephew, Scott Winter of Cleveland, OH; and her nephews, Robert Kolsky of Herndon, VA, and Jamie Kolsky of Mount Airy, MD. She is also survived by her cherished grandson, Wyatt Overby.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Overby, her twin brother, Robert; her brother, Charles; and her sister, Mary Lou.
