Roberta Johnson, age 81, a resident of Clam Falls, Wisconsin died on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center after a short illness. 

Roberta was born on November 13, 1935, in Indian Creek to parents Glenn and Mae (Styles) Mack.  She attended her first eight years of school at the Gillespie Country School and then attended and graduated from Frederic High School  - class of 1953.  On June 12, 1953, she was united in marriage to Orval Johnson at the Clam Falls Lutheran Church as Orval was home on leave from the Army before heading to Germany for 20 months.  After Orval’s discharge in 1955, they moved to Fridley, MN and lived there until they moved back to Clam Falls in 1991.  Roberta worked for 13 years cleaning the Free Church in Frederic. She had a strong faith and volunteered her time to her church and also to her children’s school when they were young.  Roberta enjoyed handiwork such as quilting and sewing, and also crossword and jigsaw puzzles, casino trips, baking, gardening, and her flowers. 

Roberta is survived by her husband, Orval; daughters Michelle (Merle) Waldron of Maple Grove, MN and  Renee Johnson of Fridley, MN;  grandsons  Jason (Lindsey) Waldron of Maple Grove, MN and  Josh (Amy Brody) of Chicago, IL; great-grandchildren Elaina and Brennan; sister, Doris Olson of Grantsburg, WI; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Memorial services for Roberta Johnson will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 2:30 at Clam Falls Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Rokenbrodt officiating.  A time of gathering will be at the church on Tuesday from 1:30-2:30. 

The family requests no flowers but rather make memorial gifts to Clam Falls Lutheran Church in her name.
